cambodia is one of the few places left in asia that hasn't been completely wrecked by tourism (but i'm sure it will be soon). don't get me wrong, I love southeast asia and I think the tourism has done wonders for the economies of these once third world countries. but there's something completely wondrous about visiting a place that has been thousands of years in the making - and it really, really shows.

i spent a week earlier this year exploring the sacred temples of siem reap,  lounging at five star hotels near the river and really taking in the culture and people of this amazing country. there was so much history - both good and bad - that just made this trip an incredible learning experience.

but one thing i will warn you about cambodia - it is HOT. REAL. HOT. and don't be stingy when packing bug spray cause you definitely gon need it.
