my knowledge of scotland before this trip was incredibly minimal. other than kilts, bagpipes and various rumblings about haggis (which fyi, is delicious and you should have buckets of it immediately!), it sat very low on my level of intrigue. then i went there… and i was immediately blown away. i felt like i had entered into a wonderland of greenery and history.
my absolute favorite part, dare i say of my entire european trip, was hiking arthur’s seat in edinburgh. this was by far the best hike of my life. the weather started off sunny and bright, and ended gloomy as we were soaked through from sudden rainfall - and i love every second of it. one minute we were climbing up rocky terrain, and the next we were lost in a field of lilac. it was an incredible day. i left europe feeling unbelievably grateful for the experience and happy that my trips finale was on this beautiful trail.
